Why Skin Texture Matters as Much as Tone
February 2, 2026 · 5 min read

Even colour is only half the picture. Texture determines how light behaves on the surface of your skin.
Tone is what we notice in the mirror; texture is what everyone else notices in person. Light scatters unevenly across rough skin, which reads as dullness regardless of colour.
Texture responds to consistent renewal — gentle exfoliation, collagen stimulation and barrier support — more than to any single dramatic session.
A useful test: photograph your skin in side light rather than front light once a month. Textural change shows there long before it shows in a mirror.
